Appliance Repair Cost Estimator
Pick your appliance and the kind of problem, and we will show the typical range for most jobs like it. Your binding price is always the written quote after diagnosis.

Estimate Your Repair
Your typical range will appear here. The tool runs in your browser; nothing is sent anywhere.
Prefer the full picture? The appliance cost guide lists ranges repair by repair, and the repair or replace article helps with the bigger decisions.
Why an Estimator, If Quotes Are Free?
Because planning happens before calling. The estimator exists for the Sunday-evening moment when the fridge dies and the household needs to know whether this is a $250 problem or a $700 problem before Monday’s budget conversation. Ranges calm that moment down and set honest expectations; the diagnosis then replaces the range with your number.
The ranges behind the tool come from the same table published in our cost guide, adjusted by problem type: minor faults cluster low, standard parts in the middle, boards and sealed systems high. If your estimate lands in the major band, read the repair or replace framework before you call, and the conversation will be twice as productive. Then call (615) 583-1836 and we will turn the range into a written quote.
How the Estimator Thinks
The tool multiplies nothing mysterious. Each appliance carries a base band drawn from the typical jobs we perform in Arrington homes: the refrigerator band reflects fans, relays, and defrost work; the washer band reflects pumps and valves; the disposal band reflects the cheapest shelf in the business. Problem type then slides the band: minor faults pull it down, standard parts center it, and major components push it up. The output is deliberately rounded, because false precision in an estimate is a small dishonesty.
What the estimator cannot see is everything diagnosis exists for: access (a stacked laundry pair in a closet costs more time than the same pair in a garage), model tier (a board for a premium built-in is not a board for a rental-grade range), and secondary faults (the vent behind the dryer element). Treat the figure as a planning corridor. The written quote narrows it to a single number, and that number is the one we are bound by. If the corridor and the quote ever disagreed wildly, the quote would explain why, in the open, before you decided anything.
After the Estimate: What Happens on the Call
When you call with an estimate in hand, we will ask the questions the tool could not: the model, the exact symptom, when it started, and what changed around then. That conversation sometimes moves the expectation before anyone drives out; a described sound can promote a minor fault to a standard part or retire a feared compressor entirely. Then the visit itself settles the matter with instruments. Bring the estimate range to the call and hold us to explaining any quote that lands outside it. That accountability loop is the entire reason the tool exists, and we would rather be questioned with our own numbers than trusted without them.
Quote Estimator: Questions & Answers
No, and any estimator that promises that is not being straight with you. Ranges here reflect typical jobs; your written quote after an in-home diagnosis is the real number, and it does not change once approved.
Because the same symptom has cheap and expensive causes. A fridge that will not cool might need a fan or a compressor. The estimator narrows the range by problem type; diagnosis settles it.
